Texas voters could recruit an industry that would:

  • create over $12 billion in new development in the state

create over 300,000 permanent new jobs

  • pay $3-4.5  billion annually in taxes to state & local governments

  • drastically increase our tourism, conference & convention industries

  • attract billions in revenue each year from outside the state

  •  not require one dime from the state to locate here

Voters should decide
if they want this industry and all of it's benefits.

A constitutional amendment could call for a limited number of statewide, first-class, casino-anchored destination resorts that would bring enormous economic benefits to Texas.  These resorts could feature first-class hotel accommodations, fine dining, trendy shops, luxurious spas, top-rate golf courses and state-of-the-art entertainment venues for Texans and tourists to enjoy.

This industry would stimulate our economy in many ways.  It would create a ton of jobs, protect and enhance our tourism, create significant economic development in our communities and bring in billions of dollars in revenue for our state and local governments.

Perceptions have changed.  Casino entertainment is an increasingly popular form of entertainment, and it would be appropriate to Let the Voters Decide whether or not to amend the Constitution to allow planned casino-anchored destination resorts in our great state.

We are already surrounded on three sides by states offering casino entertainment, and Texans provide most of the revenues for these out-of-state casinos.

WHY SHOULD WE KEEP EXPORTING ALL OF THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS OUT OF STATE?

We feel this is a viable option in our legislators' quest to raise revenues for property tax relief, higher education and other worthy purposes- without raising taxes!

LetTheVotersDecide believes Texas needs to focus on economic development tools that will bring needed growth and prosperity to our state.  That is why we support a limited number of destination resort casinos in Texas.
